Part I · Chapter 2
Understanding Emotional Intelligence
Three systems: Head, Heart and Gut.
Section 1
Three rows, three intelligences
From the Mission MapYou don't run on your brain alone. You run on three systems: your Head (thoughts), your Heart (feelings and connection), and your Gut (your body and its fight-or-flight alarm).
Each row of the map is one of those systems. At any moment, each one is standing on a square.
Section 2
Emotions are signals
From the Mission MapAnger usually means something you care about is being threatened. Grief means something mattered. Fear means something feels unsafe. Shame means you think you broke a rule about who you're supposed to be.
You don't have to act on a feeling. You do have to read it. Ignored signals don't go away; they come out sideways.
Section 3
How Mission Rewired defines emotional intelligence
Needs owner inputThis section is waiting on the program owner. It needs the program's own definition of emotional intelligence and how it differs from other models. Until it's written, nothing here is invented to fill the gap.
